The Opportunity:
BluMetric is looking for a full time Divisional Controller in our Ottawa location. In this role you will be responsible for leading all financial management and reporting activities within the Division. The Divisional Controller acts as a key business partner to the Division's leadership team and liaises closely with Corporate Finance to align divisional results with overall company objectives. This is a future position within the organization.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Oversight
- Oversee all divisional accounting, reporting, and financial operations in compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards (IFRS)
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Manage divisional working capital, including accounts receivable and accounts payable
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for the division.
- Provide detailed variance analysis and insights on key performance indicators (KPIs) and business trends.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, coach, and develop divisional finance staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Ensure alignment and collaboration with the corporate finance and accounting teams.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Lead implementation of new accounting standards or corporate initiatives within the division.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- CPA designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) required.
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a senior financial leadership role.
- Experience in a multi-entity or divisional organization preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and financial systems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage teams and build cross-functional relationships.
