Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Broker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the logistics of freight transportation, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods. This position requires strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and a solid understanding of the supply chain process. The Freight Broker will facilitate relationships between shippers and carriers while utilizing various transportation management systems to optimize operations.

Duties

  • Coordinate and manage freight shipments from origin to destination, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers and shippers to secure the best possible pricing for transportation services.
  • Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to track shipments, manage data entry, and maintain accurate records.
  • Analyze shipping routes and methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, carriers, and internal teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Handle shipping and receiving documentation, ensuring all paperwork is complete and accurate.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through effective phone etiquette while managing multi-line phone systems.
  • Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to enhance service offerings.

Skills

  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) such as Load Link Etc
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes and freight logistics.
  • Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
  • Analytical skills to assess shipping methods and identify areas for improvement.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and carriers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures and documentation requirements.
