Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. Can be in apprenticeship or ticketed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trailer and heavy equipment systems. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and experience working with industrial and automotive repair. The Trailer Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting the overall productivity of our fleet and machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers, heavy machinery, and industrial equipment
  • Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Conduct welding repairs and fabricate parts as needed using welding equipment
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, or other industrial machinery for maintenance tasks
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed
  • Assist in the assembly or disassembly of trailer components during repairs or upgrades
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards during all repair activities
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair status and recommendations

Skills

  • Proven mechanic experience with trailers, heavy equipment, or automotive repair
  • Dealership experience preferred but not required
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading
  • Experience operating heavy machinery such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, or farm machinery
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems is a plus for specialized repairs
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment operation and maintenance procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients or team members regarding repairs or maintenance needs

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: $24.65-$45.00 per hour
