Catholic Social Services is currently seeking a contract full-time 40 hours per week, Team Leader in EDMONTON to join our Lago Lindo. Providing excellent client-centered care, you are confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting others in your community. Home requires personal care for both male and female individuals.

This position has a weekly schedule of: Monday to Friday 6:30 - 2:30. Contract until October 1, 2026.

Job Summary:

Challenge your skills as a Team Leader, a coach and mentor for a team of dedicated staff providing supports to adults with complex challenges. Working in a residential setting, you will lead by example demonstrating excellent resident-focused service delivery including supports to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the person. Your willingness to learn about various resident conditions will ensure the highest quality of care. Your ability to multi-task will help you work through the administrative portion of your role efficiently, as scheduling; supervision and managing of day to day operations of the ministry are your responsibility. You should enjoy working in a unique, often changing environment.

Job Duties:

  • Provide oversight to staff team to ensure they are meeting the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the people served
  • Provide direction and supervision to the staff they supervise including completing a staffing schedule for the home, performance appraisals, approving timesheets and time off requests, mentoring and training staff, regularly scheduling staff meetings, and other duties as assigned
  • Participate in recruitment and orientation of new staff
  • Monitor and coordinate the development and implementation of the Annual and Quarterly Reviews for the people served in the home and ensure this information is captured in the CSS data base
  • Be available to the home Monday-Friday when not at work to support the team with any emergency situations
  • Participate in rotating on-call system as required over weekends and statutory holidays
  • Assist in maintaining building and equipment according to Agency standards
  • Report hazards and critical incidents to Program Manager in a timely manner
  • Ensure the staff team is following the policies and procedures of Catholic Social Services
  • Ensure the home functions within approved budget
  • Represent the home and Service on Agency committees and as a trainer as assigned
  • Perform banking and bookkeeping responsibilities for the expenses of the individuals living in the home and ensure rent, utilities and other expenses are paid in a timely manner
  • Provide direct support to individuals with high physical and/or medical needs, including assistance with mobility, personal care, and implementation of medical protocols as required
  • Consult with individual's family/guardian and physicians, advocating for individual when needed
  • Maintain professional contact with individual's support network, neighbours, employer
  • Support volunteers for program
  • Attend training/staff development programs
  • Ensure Accreditation Standards are followed

What This Job Requires:

  • A degree or diploma in the Human Services; equivalencies will be considered
  • 3 years experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Must take and pass Medication Administration Course
  • Supervisory experience considered an asset
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize and deliver creative solutions.
  • Provide delegation, negotiation and leadership skills
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality and diplomacy
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills to meet deadlines
  • Flexibility and openness to changes
  • Experience supervising teams
  • Strong computer skills and abilities
  • A reliable Vehicle, Valid Driver's License, Vehicle Registration and Third Party Liability Insurance (amount of two million)
  • Driver's Abstract with less than six (6) demerit points current within one (1) year
  • Able to provide a Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check current within the last six (6) months.
