Job Description
Community Support Workers assist individuals, using a person-directed approach, with developmental disabilities in all aspects of their support plans. Community Living Kincardine and District is recruiting applicants from the Developmental or Human Services fields, who are looking for a rewarding career in supporting individuals to achieve their goals and actively participate in their community. This position is for a casual/ relief position in our Community Participation Supports and Services program.

Responsibilities:
- Provide person-directed support to individuals participating in the Community Participation Supports and Services programs, in alignment with their individualized support plans.
- Support individuals to engage in meaningful community activities that promote inclusion, independence, and personal growth.
- Offer cognitive, social, emotional, and physical assistance as required, using a respectful and person-centered approach.
- Provide personal care as needed while maintaining dignity, privacy, and choice.
- Encourage and support individuals in developing daily living skills and fostering self-determination.
- Adapt to a variety of support needs and program locations, maintaining flexibility as a relief staff member.
- Communicate effectively with individuals supported, co-workers, families, supervisors, and community partners.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow all Agency policies, procedures, and Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) standards.
- Promote a positive and safe environment for all participants and staff.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on quality support and inclusion.
Qualifications and Position Requirements:
- Preference given to those who have experience in the Human Services field or have a Post-Secondary School diploma in a related field.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check.
- Valid Class "G" Ontario Driver's Licence and able to utilize your personal, adequately insured vehicle (proof of minimum $1 million liability insurance) for work purposes.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certificate (or obtained within first three months of hire).

- Competitive Wages of $26.70 per hour.
