Emerald Hills Montessori is a well established neighborhood childcare centre in Coquitlam (Westwood Plateau), providing high-quality, child-centered care in a warm and professional environment. We value safety, integrity, teamwork, and community connection.

We are now hiring a responsible, safety-focused Bus Driver to support our Before and After School Program by transporting children between our centre and nearby elementary schools.

Position Overview

This is a part-time split shift role—perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and wants consistent hours during school days. You will drive a small school bus (Class 4 Unrestricted required) along a simple and predictable route to two nearby schools.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport children to and from school on a set daily route
  • Perform and record daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections
  • Follow all road safety regulations and licensing requirements
  • Ensure a caring, calm, and professional environment on the bus
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized vehicle
  • Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and school personnel
  • Respond responsibly to delays, route changes, or emergencies

Qualifications

  • Class 4 Unrestricted Driver's License (required)
  • Clean Driver's Abstract
  • Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) required upon hire
  • Experience working with children is an asset
  • First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain – we can assist)
  • Reliable, mature, and safety-focused mindset
  • Strong communication and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
