Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where attention to detail and teamwork are essential. The Barista will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, managing transactions, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using POS systems such as Micros POS.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including food preparation stations.
  • Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure food safety standards are followed during food handling and preparation.
  • Manage time effectively to serve customers promptly during busy periods.
  • Restock supplies as needed and perform basic food preparation tasks.
  • Uphold food safety regulations and proper hygiene practices at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and measuring ingredients.
  • Experience with POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Serving experience or familiarity with food service operations is advantageous. This position offers an engaging work environment where your skills in food preparation, customer service, and cash handling will be valued and developed further.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
