Business Unit Manager – Aerospace & Nuclear Manufacturing

About the Role
We are seeking a strong Business Unit Manager to lead a major manufacturing division focused on complex aerospace and nuclear components. This role is fully responsible for operational performance, financial results, customer satisfaction, and strategic execution within the assigned business unit.
You will oversee Production, Quality alignment, Scheduling, Engineering support, and delivery performance—ensuring output meets stringent AS9100, NADCAP, and CSA N299 requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead end-to-end operations for a key business unit, including CNC machining, assembly, and precision manufacturing.
- Drive daily production performance, schedule adherence, quality results, and on-time delivery.
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
Financial & Business Performance
- Own the business unit P&L, cost control, and productivity targets.
- Analyze KPIs and implement action plans to improve margins, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
- Support quoting, capacity planning, and pricing alignment.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all work complies with AS9100, NADCAP, CSA N299, and customer-specific requirements.
- Partner with Quality leadership on audits, corrective actions, and performance improvement.
Team Leadership
- Lead supervisors, engineers, and production teams to deliver high-reliability aerospace and nuclear components.
- Develop talent, strengthen skills, and build a high-performance culture.
- Support training, skills development, and succession planning.
Customer & Cross-Functional Interface
- Act as primary business unit contact for customer programs and key accounts.
- Ensure program milestones, technical requirements, and delivery commitments are met.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance.
Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in manufacturing operations, preferably aerospace or nuclear machining.
- Prior leadership experience overseeing production teams or business units.
- Strong understanding of precision machining, CNC operations, and quality systems.
- Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and financial performance.
- Working knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP, and CSA N299.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $120,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
