Company:Finning CanadaNumber of Openings:1Worker Type:PermanentPosition Overview:Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the position of Field Service Heavy Equipment Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar equipment primarily in the field.Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

· Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all heavy duty equipment and/or related equipment in a timely fashion and on customer site.

· Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.

· Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.

· Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools.

· Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer specifications.

· Perform routine maintenance work.

· Various related duties as required.

· Adhere to Finning expense claim policies and ensure proper management of expenses.

· Ensure all service documentation and billing is accurate and properly recorded.

· Maintain and track inventory and tooling within approved inventory levels.

· Travel to customer facilities and worksite where and when required, communicating field work to Service Supervisor to maximize service hours.
