NC Operator

The Punch Press/NC Operator is responsible for operating punch press machines and numerical control equipment to produce metal components. This position demands precision, an understanding of sheet metalworking, and adherence to safety and quality guidelines.

Our facility in Pickering, ON has openings for a Full-time position available on Night Shift (Mon-Thur. 4:30pm-3am)

Responsibilities:

• Operate and set up Amada NC machinery to perform tasks on metal sheets, including punching and notching.
• Select and install punch and dies, and adjust machine settings for desired output.
• Read and interpret drawings and job orders to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Inspect flats with precision measuring tools (such as calipers) to ensure they meet specifications.
• Conduct routine maintenance of machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Load material onto machines and properly align them to achieve precise cuts or shapes.
• Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualification

• Ability to read precision measuring instruments and blueprints. Ability to set up; make adjustments on equipment and tooling.
• Ability to utilize basic computer functions such as Windows OS.
