Digital Commerce Group is seeking to add a Data Engineer with a strong understanding of financial compliance in the Canadian regulatory landscape. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data systems and regulatory requirements, and who can build scalable, compliant data products that directly support the work of Financial Compliance Officers.

Digital Commerce Bank (DCBank) is a Schedule 1 Canadian chartered bank and a fintech leader for corporate digital banking. We offer flexible payment acceptance solutions for corporate clients including custom branded prepaid cards, digital wallets, acquiring services for Network card transactions such as Visa and Mastercard, payment acceptance and integration for Interac e-Transfer payments, and other innovative banking solutions. Required Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise:

o Proven experience in data engineering, database development, or business intelligence.

o Strong SQL skills for data manipulation, validation, and reporting.

o Experience developing data pipeline and following ELT best practices

o Experience with orchestration and workflow management tools

o Familiarity with data modeling and data warehouse and data lake concepts

o Ability to translate technical specifications into business insights, and vice versa.

o Understanding of data lineage, metadata management, and data cataloging with specific knowledge of Canadian financial regulatory compliance (OSFI, FINTRAC AML/ATF requirements, PIPEDA)

o Experience implementing data validation, profiling, and quality monitoring frameworks, including data cleansing, standardization, anomaly detection, and automated testing to ensure data accuracy and reliability

  • Financial Compliance Knowledge:

o Solid understanding of financial compliance requirements in Canada.

o Experience working with compliance teams or directly in a financial compliance role.

  • Communication & Collaboration:

o Strong communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

o Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.

Nice to Have:

· Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (development and administration)

· Experience with orchestration and workflow management tools like SSIS and n8n

· Experience with data wrangling using Python

· Awareness of AI tools and basic prompt engineering concepts

· Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS

· Experience with data cataloging platforms such as Dataedo, Atlan, Collibra, Microsoft Purview
