Information Technology Support Specialist

On behalf of our client, we're seeking a
Level 2 Support Specialist
with strong hands-on experience in
network administration, Azure environments, and end-user support escalation
. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, improving system stability, and providing exceptional customer service to internal teams or external clients.
You'll act as the escalation point for L1 technicians, resolving advanced incidents across networking infrastructure and Microsoft Azure services while contributing to process improvements and documentation.
This 1-month contract will work
on-site
near the
Calgary Airport (YYC)
and has potential to extend.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as
primary escalation point for L1 support
to resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner. - Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot
network connectivity, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure. - Support and administer
Azure Active Directory, virtual machines, storage, and cloud networking
components. - Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement long-term fixes or automation where possible.
- Manage user access, permissions, and security groups within Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams on incident response and system optimization.
- Maintain accurate documentation of troubleshooting steps, configurations, and procedures.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of support workflows and knowledge base articles.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years
of experience in IT support or systems administration, with a focus on networking and Azure. - Strong understanding of
LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, and switching
. - Hands-on experience with
Microsoft Azure
, including virtual networking, Azure AD, and resource management. - Familiarity with
PowerShell scripting
for automation and administration tasks. - Experience with
ticketing systems
(e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, or similar) and escalation workflows. - Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
- Relevant certifications (e.g.,
CompTIA Network+, Azure Administrator Associate, CCNA
) are an asset.
