Antler Hill Community Association is looking to fill a part-time position at our local community hall. We are a small local community centre that values creating connections and bringing recreational services to our locals, as well as offering up our location and building as a unique rental for many. We are seeking a self-driven person that is adept at both computers and practical skills and can carry out all, or most, of the following roles for the Antler Hill Hall:

-Rental Agent/Manager

-Building and Groundskeeper

-Event coordinator

-Custodian

Preference will be given to the candidate who can take on all of the above roles.

The responsibilities for those roles include but are not limited to:

Rental Agent/Manager:

-Manage bookings through email and the website - learning and becoming adept at wordpress

-Manage the community email address and tend to emails.

-Respond to the occasional phone call from renters in the event they are having trouble.

-Update the website as needed and perform light troubleshooting.

-Check the hall in between rentals:

-ensure cleaning and close up schedule is complete

-change the passcode

-Communicate occasionally with the treasurer regarding rental payments and deposits.

-Communicate with the Board as needed.

-putting out advertising for the Hall, possibly creating newsletters

Building and Groundskeeper:

-Coordinate lawn mowing & snow removal, shock chlorination for the well, fire extinguisher inspections, recertifications and replacements.

-Take annual water sample

-Manage weeds, specifically the playground and horseshoe pits.

-Insect and rodent management

-Coordinate or complete repairs as needed.

-Coordinate or complete ice rink set up and take down.

-Attend and take the lead on the annual community clean up event.

-recoat or touch up paint as needed

Event Coordinator:

-Add community events to the website and send out emails to the community regarding upcoming events and/or meetings.

-Fostering community engagement by coordinating local events for the community such as paint nights, movie nights, yoga courses, game nights etc.

Custodian:

-Perform light cleaning tasks as needed to keep the building ready for use such as sweeping, mopping, and the occasional deep clean.

-refill supplies

-launder used dishcloths

-Purchase, restock and organize hall contents and supplies as needed.

-replace furnace filters annually, etc.

-manage septic system.

Additionally, this position requires attendance and some reporting at quarterly board meetings and the Annual General Meeting. Taking direction from the board, and being open to new tasks and ideas will be expected. The Antler Hill Community Association Board is a supportive body for this position. Training will be available, as well as a detailed online handbook.

The ideal candidate is independent, disciplined, industrious, creative and can take initiative to brainstorm and coordinate events and repairs as needed. Having both tech experience and hands on skills will be necessary. Personal work insurance policy is required.
