Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Technician to support our environmental research and data collection initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to environmental projects through fieldwork, data analysis, and technical support. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory and GIS skills, along with a passion for environmental science and research. The position is full-time and provides valuable experience in environmental monitoring, data management, and technical applications.

Duties

  • Conduct field data collection related to environmental conditions, including soil, water, and air sampling.
  • Utilize GIS tools such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD to map and analyze spatial data for various projects.
  • Perform data analysis using Python and other software to interpret environmental datasets.
  • Assist in laboratory experiments and sample processing with attention to detail.
  • Support research activities by documenting findings, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Apply mechanical knowledge when maintaining or troubleshooting laboratory equipment or field instruments.
  • Contribute to research projects focused on horticulture, conservation, or ecological assessment.
  • Use data analysis skills to identify trends, anomalies, or areas of concern within collected datasets.
  • Collaborate with team members on project planning, implementation, and reporting.

Experience

  • Laboratory experience is highly desirable for handling samples and conducting experiments accurately.
  • Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD for spatial analysis and mapping tasks.
  • Strong data collection skills coupled with the ability to analyze complex datasets effectively.
  • Experience in research settings or environmental monitoring projects is preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge beneficial for maintaining laboratory or field equipment.
  • Programming skills in Python are a plus for automating data processing tasks.
  • Knowledge of horticulture can enhance contributions to projects involving plant sciences or ecological restoration.
