About You

Summit Nanotech is seeking a Senior Associate, Corporate Development to support global strategic initiatives. This role will be instrumental in driving high-impact projects and analyses that inform Summit's growth and decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting techno-economic analyses to evaluate technologies and business opportunities
  • Monitoring and analyzing competitor movements and industry trends to proactively assess their potential impact on Summit's strategic direction and business outcomes
  • Developing forecasting and planning tools, along with related analyses to support strategic decisions
  • Assisting in the evaluation and negotiation of potential partnerships and opportunities

The Role

Reporting to the VP, Strategy and Corporate Development, the ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, proactive communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You excel at managing multiple projects from concept to execution, and you approach challenges with a collaborative spirit and global perspective. Your work is thoughtful, impactful, and transformative— contributing to Summit's mission of sustainable innovation. A hybrid model of in-office and remote work from home will be available, the balance depending on business needs at any given time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and technical analysis of Summit's marketplace and industry trends, including monitoring macroeconomic, lithium market, customer, and competitor news, and synthesizing actionable insights
  • Due diligence of competitor technology, activities, projects, economics, and the overall competitive landscape
  • Support of Summit's sales and business development team with technoeconomic analysis to support customer capture tactics
  • Financial analysis and strategic consideration in the development and evaluation of company growth initiatives
  • Build and maintain forecast and planning tools (e.g., techno-economic models) to support Summit's strategic decision making
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and marketing materials for senior management, potential investors, and other stakeholders
  • Support analysis and negotiation of key transactions with strategic partners and others
  • Liaise and work closely with internal resources and external advisors
  • Support and enhance current corporate development processes

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education (Bachelor's or Master's degree) focused on engineering, business, finance or economics
  • Preference for educational and/or employment experience of a technical nature (e.g., engineering degree, ability analyze process flow diagrams and other engineering and technical documentation)
  • 3-5 years experience in consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, business development, with experience in technology-focused corporate environments seen as an asset
  • Experience in evaluating market conditions and business decisions from financial, technical and strategic standpoints
  • Quick learner with an ability to understand and distill complex technical and market data into decision-useful information
  • Organized self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent tasks; able to quarterback initiatives from conception, planning and execution through completion ensuring proactive communication with stakeholders
  • Proficient with office software applications including Excel and PowerPoint
