Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Snow Plow Operator to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining safe and accessible roadways during winter weather conditions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating various types of machinery, including snow plows and other heavy equipment. This position requires a commitment to safety and efficiency while ensuring the highest standards of service.
Duties
- Operate snow plow vehicles to clear snow and ice from roads, parking lots, and other designated areas.
- Perform routine maintenance on snow plow equipment, including checking fluid levels, changing filters, and conducting minor repairs.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to develop effective snow removal strategies based on weather forecasts and road conditions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating machinery in adverse weather conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including hours worked and materials used.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Snow Plow Operator or in a similar role within construction or landscape maintenance environments.
- Familiarity with operating skid steers and other heavy machinery is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks.
- Experience driving a truck and trailer is an asset.
- A valid driver's license is necessary and clean drivers abstract is required; additional certifications related to heavy equipment operation are advantageous.
