Alamos Gold's Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada's largest underground gold mines.  It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario.  The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos' foundation for growth for many years to come. Reporting to the Supervisor, Mill Operations, the Surface Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the loader, grader and excavator as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operating surface equipment as required.
• Maintaining surface equipment in good working order by completing pre-operation checks and ensuring oils and grease are checked and maintained.
• Working with surface crews to assist in shoveling/clearing conveyor areas.
• Working in a team setting to collectively accomplish the task.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in operation of a surface mobile equipment such as Grader, Loader and Excavator.
• Self-motivated ability to work alone.
• Accreditation in surface common core modules and specialty modules would be an asset.
• Strong safety conscious with a positive attitude
• Strong interpersonal, communications, and analytical skills; and
• Strong organization and time management skills.

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, following 7/7 schedule
