Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada's only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. As a Trans Mountain Electrical Technician, you will be expected to provide Operational Support in a multiskilled work environment that promotes public safety, environmental stewardship and pipeline integrity. In this role, an Electrical Technician would be required to utilize maintenance tracking software to manage, document and verify the functional integrity of protective devices, valve actuators, PLC's mainline motors and high voltage infrastructure. The technician would also be expected to work in both Operations and other trades designations as suitably trained and competent.
Trans Mountain Electrical Technician will provide Electrical, Operational & Emergency Response support to ensure public safety, environmental stewardship and integrity compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission and maintenance of low and high voltage electrical systems Trouble-shoot electrical circuits, communication networks and control equipment with associated software, schematics, files and drawings.Support and perform programming and troubleshooting of Local Operator Interfaces, Programmable Logic Controllers and associated control systems.Perform and document Electrical Maintenance as defined by maintenance tracking software, ensuring system reliability and integrity Take an active role in supporting Emergency Response initiatives Complete Operational duties to ensure throughput and system reliability.Analyze, interpret and utilize graphics and other information contained in SCADA displays and P&ID drawings.Oversee and vet contractor safety and proficiency.Participate in District On-Call Rotation working after hours and weekends when needed.Support and assist other Trades in the District and Neighboring Districts.Provide Operational support to ensure throughput and system reliability.Qualifications and Professional Requirements
High School completion.Journeyman Electrician Certificate (Red Seal, TQ Endorsement, Trade Qualification) with 3-5 years' experience working in an Industrial Environment.Previous Electrical Experience and training working with Motor Controls, VFD's, High Voltage Equipment and Hazardous Location Installations as defined by the CEC (Canadian Electrical Code).Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets, employees, and the general public.Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Work well in a both Team and Individual environments.Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks as required.Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.Must have a valid driver's license.Application
