Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian/Cleaner to join our team at Little Cubs. The ideal candidate will be working after the centre closes at 5:30pm and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, supporting the overall maintenance and appearance of the premises through efficient cleaning practices.

Duties

  • Perform thorough cleaning of commercial spaces, including floors, windows, restrooms, classrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools for tasks such as scrubbing, polishing, or minor repairs as needed.
  • Conduct facilities maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and fixtures are functioning properly.
  • Operate custodial equipment including vacuums, floor buffers, and other cleaning machinery.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling processes in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding cleaning schedules or issues encountered.
  • Assist with heavy lifting or moving furniture and equipment when necessary.

Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services preferred.
  • Familiarity with facilities maintenance procedures and equipment operation.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and cleaning machinery safely and effectively.
  • Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within scheduled timeframes.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and address client needs.
  • Customer service orientation to ensure a positive experience for clients or building occupants.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during shifts.
  • Attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained consistently. This position is vital in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities, contributing directly to a positive environment for all users.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 17.60 – 20 per week
