Location: 310 Rayette Rd Shift: 7am – 3:30pm

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 /h

Description:

The Forming Machine Operator's primary function is in operating highly technical flow forming machinery while executing production standards and producing quality parts to close tolerance. The Forming Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring the machine runs efficiently and properly by conducting first, in process and last off quality inspections, and performing basic maintenance and mechanical changes under the guidance of their direct supervisor. Maintaining required documentation is vital to producing a quality part and ensuring that WIP material is transferred to the next Work Center, or Production stage smoothly.

The Forming Machine Operator achieves this by adhering to the Work Order / Traveller, and documenting both production and quality data through ICS Sheets, Lot Tracking Sheets, and Production Reports. Applicants with Press Operating, or CNC Production Machining experience may be best suited for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Runs product through flow forming machinery which may include deburring, grinding/filing, cleaning, and/or packaging each product as needed.

· Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) ensuring process and quality standards are met.

· Conducts first off / last off inspections in accordance with customer specified standards.

· Accurately read, record, and use height gauges, vernier calipers, and micrometers where required.

· Record necessary information for material tracking, quality verification, and production reporting, including Production Report Logs, Production Lot Tracking, and ICS Sheets.

· Follow all steps outlined on machine specific Work Instructions (WIs).

· Produces parts to close tolerance and communicates "out of tolerance" conditions and deviations to their supervisor immediately.

· Use various pneumatic or electrical tools such as grinders, power files, etc. in a safe and proper manner.

· Performs general maintenance and mechanical changes of equipment with assistance under direct supervision.

· Other duties and responsibilities to be assigned as needed.

· Follow all applicable Company Health & Safety Policy, rules and safe work practices including wearing appropriate PPE at all times.

· Must communicate any issues or concerns to the Production Manager/Supervisor.

· Ensure a clean workstation and maintain housekeeping standards.

Experience, Qualifications, and Skill Set Requirements:

· Prior experience as a Press Operator, Forming Operator or CNC Production Machinist is a major asset.

· Must be able to read and communicate in English, through both verbal and written means.

· Working understanding of GD&T Drawings / Blueprints

· Working understanding of using inspection and measurement tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers and height gauges.

· Compliant with health and safety policy and legislation (OHSA).

· Quality oriented, with a strong attention to accuracy required.

· Material Knowledge.

· Team oriented, with the ability to work autonomously.

· Detailed oriented with strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

· Fast Paced manufacturing shop floor environment involves frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing.

· Process is repetitive in nature and involves postures including forward reaching, tight gripping, some climbing and squatting.

· Frequently lifts, carries, or balances up to 50 pounds.

· Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination.

Experience:

· CNC Production Machine Operator: 1 year (preferred)
