Our culture is rooted in our values, leadership accountability, and the growth and development of our Ambassadors.The Director of Technology will contribute to the overall success of Coast Hotels by participating as a member of the Corporate Leadership Team and contributing to our short and long-term strategies by leading and implementing Information Technology strategies that effectively support business operations. This includes systems optimization, service quality, cost effectiveness and scalability, all while contributing to exceptional Ambassador and guest satisfaction.Responsibilities:Sets a clear vision, direction and strategies for Technology, to enhance current business practices and company-wide performanceCreates and leads the execution of the Technology strategy against an annual business plan which includes measurable objectives that align with the overall business strategy.Anticipates and identifies organizational change initiatives required to support the business strategy; defines specific implementation plans for change and clearly communicates plans to all relevant groupsMaintains industry and professional expertise by participating actively in industry and / or professional events, conferences, reviewing relevant industry communication and analyst reports; builds an effective network within the industry and / or professionUses business and industry acumen to forecast and address future needs and challenges, and meet them head onMakes decisions and forms strategies that balance the unique needs of the different properties with the needs of the company overallEstablishes clear plans, targets, and budgets to support business excellence, such as the development of specifications for hardware and software products used, and performing system-wide capacity planningClosely monitors and measures Technology plans and targets, identifying problem areas and proactively taking charge of solutionsEstablishes processes to ensure decisions and actions are followed through and plans executed for the Technology departmentAnticipates, prioritizes, and allocates resources and capital improvements appropriatelyDevelops systems and practices to ensure consistency in the delivery of brand and guest experience across all propertiesAdvises on key processes, policies, and practices within Technology that maximizes operational efficiencies and competitive advantageMaintains positive vendor relationshipsBuilds a strong team with appropriate skills and talents through effective recruitment, mentoring, development and team practicesBuilds strong working relationships with team members through visibility, availability, clear and frequent two-way communication, collaboration and involvementSets performance targets and measures and motivates Ambassadors to achieve targets; monitors and manages overall performance of the group and direct reportsIdentifies succession needs and risks; talent requirements and high potential talent, and actively develops key talent for the functional groupTakes responsibility for the attainment of desired Ambassador Satisfaction results and implements improvements based on feedbackAnticipates the evolving needs of guests to ensure that the company continues to meet these changing needs and delivers exceptional service; incorporates guest feedback into plans and strategies to strengthen Coast's competitive advantageMaintains an awareness of evolving expectations, trends and technologies; works to ensure that Coast Hotels stays competitiveLives the Coast Values and reflects the brand in the community; fosters a positive image of Coast Hotels in the communitySkills/Knowledge/Experience:Bachelor degree or diploma with a major in computer science, business administration or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education8 to 12 years of related or cross-functional experience4 years experience in a leadership role in the hospitality industryDetailed knowledge of hospitality and networking technologiesExcellent negotiation and diplomatic problem-solving skills to resolve issues across functional areas and between the organization and external parties (i.e., suppliers, key stakeholders, etc.)Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for financial results of a significant functional areaExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to analyze, resolve complex issues and be detail orientedStrong overall understanding of organizational operations, industry and best practicesExperience executing a change process, new system or expansionCapable of managing third party vendor relationshipsIn-depth understanding of relevant legislation and regulations as they apply to own area and industryProven ability to be an interdisciplinary and creative thinkerExperience in discussing performance issues with team members and providing direct and honest feedback when discussing career advancement and leading performance expectationsExemplifies Coast's Core Values and enjoys working in a culture of accountabilityCoast Hotels offers a variety of benefits, including competitive wages & benefits, employee discounts, training & development, career advancement opportunities & more Coast Hotels is an Equal Opportunity Employer Coast Hotels would like to thank all interested applicants Only those selected for an interview will be contacted NO PLACE LIKE COAST
