NUMIS CPAsis looking for an experienced and detailed Senior Manager to join our team Reporting to the Partners, the Senior Manager will mainly focus on reviews, managing deadlines, and supervising and supporting our accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage accounting staff to ensure all engagements and assignments are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Oversee file progress, workflow, and deadline management, proactively identifying bottlenecks and reallocating resources as needed to maintain efficiency.
- Provide hands-on support, coaching, and mentoring to team members to promote professional growth, technical development, and career advancement.
- Review working papers, financial statements, and related documentation, ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm policies.
- Guide staff through complex accounting and tax matters, fostering learning through review discussions and constructive feedback.
- Monitor engagement budgets and timelines, maintaining open communication with staff and partners to address issues early.
- Leverage technology and firm systems to enhance team productivity, accuracy, and workflow transparency.
- Contribute to a positive team culture that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support client satisfaction and retention by ensuring deliverables are of exceptional quality, timely, and responsive to client needs.
Qualifications
- CPA Designation is a requirement
- 4+ years with relevant public practice experience
- Proven experience leading teams and supporting staff to meet deadlines and performance expectations.
- Experience with Caseware, CCH iFirm, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Sharepoint)
- Exposure to paperless systems, including QuickBooks Online, and SharePoint considered an asset
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
- Excellent time management skills
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with the team when required
- Driven to meet simultaneous deadlines and adapt to competing priorities
