Quality Automation Engineer

As a Quality Automation Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in ownership, and has a strong focus on automation.
Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
- Collaborate with product managers and scrum masters to understand requirements and define the scope and objectives of QA testing.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases across multiple projects.
- Execute various types of testing, including functional, regression, load, and system testing.
- Work closely with UI/UX designers and developers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and quality goals are achieved.
- Define and articulate quality acceptance criteria for new features and releases.
- Ensure the overall quality and reliability of the product through rigorous testing and validation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and automation frameworks.
- Maintain a strong focus on automation and scalability in testing practices.
To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in software testing (professional or academic).
- Strong communicator with sharp attention to detail.
- Skilled in testing web apps across browsers and devices.
- Familiar with API testing, systems integration, and SDLC.
- Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experienced with Agile methodologies and black-box testing.
- Proficient in test planning, case creation, and issue tracking tools.
- Comfortable with databases and command-line environments (Windows, macOS, Unix).
- Basic understanding of programming and AI concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting skills using logs and diagnostics.
Nice To Have
- Experience with Jira or similar project management tools.
- Scripting experience for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Jasmine, Cypress, or similar.
- Background in programming or software development.

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $58,950 - $98,250
