- Write well-tested, high-quality, and secure code to build performant APIs that enable our Commerce platform (including Loyalty, Pay, and Basket APIs), and develop applications that allow our customers to manage their online ordering solutions.
- Mentor and guide developers in their work, up-skilling the team to solve complex problems and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Architect solutions, actively participate in choosing new technologies and frameworks, proactively anticipate performance problems, and think at scale to ensure the platform remains reliable.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Customer Success, and Technical Account Managers to deeply understand customer problems and design effective solutions, communicating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Own the team's development processes, including planning and executing sprints, leading code reviews, and ensuring that unit and integration tests meet our coverage requirements.
- Support platform stability by participating in the on-call rotation to ensure any incidents are addressed as soon as possible.
What you will bring:
- Senior-level experience and demonstrable leadership within a software development context, with a passion for remaining a hands-on coder.
- 8 or more years of experience using Python in a web context (e.g., Flask, Eve) or equivalent work experience, with a willingness to learn Python quickly if your background is in another language (e.g., Ruby).
- Proven experience building secure and scalable Web/REST APIs and working with a variety of API standards.
- Expertise in developer mentorship and up-skilling, with the soft skills required to successfully lead teams in hybrid and multi-location environments.
- Experience with development tools including Git, the CLI, and API clients like Postman, Insomnia, or Bruno.
- Familiarity with SaaS products or experience working on a product with frequent releases within a rapidly scaling global company.
- A strong sense of ownership and initiative, readily identifying what needs to be done and proactively driving tasks to completion.
- Nice to Have:
