Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly by preparing ingredients and assisting in meal preparation. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment.

Duties

  • Prepare and chop ingredients for cooking, including vegetables, meats, and other food items.
  • Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring all food safety standards are met.
  • Handle food items safely and efficiently, adhering to proper food handling procedures.
  • Support the team during service by preparing dishes for plating and serving as needed.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and delivery.
  • Participate in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
  • Experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
  • Previous experience in meal preparation or as a line cook is a plus.
