About the Role
We're looking for a dynamic, data-driven Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead our growth, retention, and brand marketing efforts across all channels. This role combines creative vision with operational excellence — balancing storytelling and performance to drive measurable business outcomes.
As CMO, you'll oversee acquisition, retention, creative, merchandising, and cross-channel marketing initiatives, while managing internal and external teams across media buying, retention, creative, and analytics.
You'll be the strategic driver behind our paid media creative strategy, lifecycle marketing, website experience, and brand storytelling — ensuring our marketing engine runs smoothly and scales efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Acquisition
- Lead paid media creative strategy and performance optimization.
- Conduct competitor analysis using tools like Foreplay to identify top creative and copy trends.
- Oversee ad production workflow: Shot list → Ranyia (shoot) → Brendan (edit) → Maccy (final polish + resize for Google/Meta).
- Write ad copy and manage creative assets in
- Monitor media spend and campaign performance, iterating on top performers.
- UGC Management:
- Develop creative angles, hooks, and scripts for creators.
- Manage and approve UGC content pipeline.
- Negotiate contracts with creators and partners.
2. Retention
- Own Email/SMS strategy (via Klaviyo).
- Source inspiration from competitor campaigns and flows.
- Review and approve design, copy, subject lines, and assets (1 month in advance).
- Manage approvals in and Figma.
- Review weekly retention performance metrics.
3. Marketing Calendar, Promos & Evergreen Offers
- Build and manage promo/marketing calendar aligned with key holidays/events.
- Coordinate with PR and external agencies for campaign rollouts.
- Approve and test discount codes.
- Manage evergreen offers — toggling between promos and updating homepage timers/PDP banners.
4. Creative & Copy
- Write and review copy across homepage, ads, emails, overlays, banners, and product descriptions.
- Plan and execute seasonal photoshoots; source creative inspiration from Pinterest, Foreplay, and competitors.
- Oversee creative operations: naming conventions, asset tagging, Monday/Dropbox structure, and cross-team workflow.
- Project manage graphic design and video editing deliverables (Maccy).
5. Website & Merchandising
- Manage homepage design and updates (desktop + mobile) via Canva.
- Curate collections and merchandising strategies for campaigns.
- Collaborate with Faith & Christine on merchandising strategy.
6. TikTok Shop & Live
- Monitor live sessions and provide creative/strategic feedback.
- Handle TikTok Shop operations and appeals directly.
7. Operations & Vendor Management
- Track spend and performance in Lifetimely, GA4, and Kendall.
- Manage accounting and cost tracking for paid media.
- Oversee agency and vendor relationships — negotiate contracts, review performance, and ensure deliverables.
- Coordinate internal and external syncs (weekly/bi-weekly).
8. Hiring & Team Growth
- Lead marketing team recruitment and onboarding.
- Foster a high-performance culture through feedback and training.
9. Metrics & Reporting
- Review key metrics weekly: RCR, CVR, AOV, spend.
- Lead high-level reporting and maintain team dashboards for visibility and accountability.

- Experienced in managing agencies, creative teams, and cross-channel marketing budgets.
- A proactive communicator and collaborator across departments.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of marketing leadership experience in DTC or eCommerce.
- Proven success scaling performance marketing programs across Meta, Google, and TikTok.
- Strong understanding of email/SMS lifecycle strategy.
- Experience managing multi-agency relationships and internal creative pipelines.
- Advanced proficiency in Shopify, Klaviyo, Google Analytics, and paid media platforms.
