Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting store operations, driving sales, and ensuring excellent customer service. This position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills and advance within a thriving retail environment. The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in daily store management, supervising staff, and maintaining operational excellence.
Duties
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new team members.
- Manage payroll processing, scheduling, and time management for staff.
- Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Oversee merchandising, pricing strategies, and product placement to maximize sales.
- Handle POS transactions, cash handling, and bookkeeping with accuracy.
- Assist with purchasing decisions and inventory management to optimize stock levels.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff development and skill enhancement.
- Monitor store performance metrics and prepare reports for management review.
- Coordinate marketing initiatives and promotional activities to attract customers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and store procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail sales, store management, or sales management roles.
- Strong leadership skills with supervising experience in a retail environment.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in POS systems, merchandising, pricing strategies, and cash handling.
- Ability to manage budgets, payroll, and administrative tasks effectively.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Strong negotiation skills with experience in recruiting and interviewing candidates.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with excellent time management skills.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and customer service best practices.
- Experience with training & development programs is preferred.
- Competency in bookkeeping, math skills, and organizational skills necessary for daily operations. This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking growth opportunities within the retail industry while contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers.
