Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service to residents in our assisted living, nursing home, or hospital setting. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in meal preparation and service, ensuring that all dietary needs are met with care and attention to detail. This position requires a strong commitment to food safety and sanitation practices while delivering excellent customer service.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
  • Ensure all food is handled, stored, and prepared in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, dining rooms, and food service equipment.
  • Support the kitchen staff with cooking tasks as needed, including meal preparation and plating.
  • Deliver meals to residents in a timely manner while providing friendly and attentive customer service.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions of residents.
  • Participate in cleaning duties post-meal service, ensuring a tidy environment for both staff and residents.
  • Adhere to time management practices to ensure efficient meal service during scheduled times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in assisted living, retirement homes, or hospital settings is preferred.
  • Background in the food industry with knowledge of food preparation techniques is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members.
  • Experience in cooking, serving, and cleaning within a kitchen environment is beneficial.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy meal periods.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.84 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 24 per week
