Lyons Timber Mart is currently seeking a Full Time Delivery Manager to join our team at our Wellington West Lyons Timber Mart location. The ideal candidate will find excitement in joining a team which provides customers with quality products, expert advice, and exceptional service.
As a Delivery Manager, you will lead and supervise all aspects of delivery operations. directing day to day workflow of assigned associates, monitoring the warehouse and yard activities, coordinating delivery scheduling and dispatch duties, handling customer and delivery inquiries, customer complaints and issues and inventory assistance and support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates Picking associates' and Delivery Drivers' workload, arranging duties, dispatch of product deliveries and pick-ups, schedules regular vehicle maintenance, provides input of departmental needs
- Lead all logistics operations and monitor the flow of deliveries
- Ensures order pickings are completed promptly and are accurate
- Ensures all company equipment/vehicles are up‐to‐date on servicing and able to perform effectively
- Provide support for Delivery Associates as business needs require
- Interact with internal and external customers; providing exemplary customer service to internal customers, retail, contractor and professional builder customers, Identify and resolve possible delays of deliveries in advance
- Perform a variety of administrative functions including correspondence, data entry and report preparation, processing paperwork filing and computer work
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proven knowledge of procurement activities, inventory, and resource management
- Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and good relationship building skills.
- Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, time management skills and organizational skills.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Bondable
- Valid Drivers License
- Full availability including evenings and weekends
- Able to lift 50 lbs safely and repetitively
- Health and Safety Awareness (Steel Toe Footwear, Hi Vis Clothing)
