About the role

We are seeking a Manager, IT Security Monitoring and Incident Management to lead our efforts in investigating, managing and mitigating security incidents within our operating environment. This role requires a technically adept leader with a deep understanding of our network systems and the ability to translate insights into actionable improvements for our security posture.

The Manager, IT Security Monitoring and Incident Management, reports to the Director of Cyber Defense and manages a technical team of experts across multiple locations and time zones.

What you'll do here:

  • Provide technical assistance in investigations, utilizing a deep understanding of our operating environment and network (Intact network).
  • Offer insights to the team based on your comprehensive understanding of the network environment.
  • Drive information, data, and metrics from security, incident response (IR), and IT tools to support strategic planning and enhance the Cyber incident response capability and team maturity.
  • Manage the team's workload efficiently while providing technical expertise and support as required.
  • Collaborate with support teams to leverage data, leading necessary process and policy changes within the IR function and the broader security teams.
  • Enhance current processes, runbooks, and documentation to reduce overhead and improve operational efficiency through automation.
  • Work with broader teams to ensure alignment in security and technology strategies.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology, Information Security, an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge in the following areas: computer networks, operational security platforms, information security principles, SOC, IAM, MFA, SIEM, ITSM, DLP, IPS, application development, technical writing, information risk, and international environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in team management.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in information security.
  • Proven experience in incident response or a related security management role.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to conduct detailed investigations and analyze security events.
  • Experience with security, IR, and IT tools and metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team.
  • Strong understanding of integration and automation to deliver and improves efficient processes.
  • Strong organizational and workload management skills.
  • Analytical mind, pragmatic approach to IT security issues and problems.
  • Strong partner in all areas, internally and externally, to provide a secure solution.
  • Mentoring and coaching skills to develop the team within the company.
  • Ability to write and present material to communicate difficult concepts and gain consensus.
  • Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
