Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Finisher to oversee all finishing operations in our millwork shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in custom finishing, leadership skills, and an eye for detail. You'll be responsible for managing finish prep, colour development, spray applications, quality control, and training junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily finishing operations (staining, sealing, lacquer, paint, etc.)
  • Mix and match custom colours to achieve design specifications
  • Ensure consistency and quality standards across all finished products
  • Supervise and train finishing team members
  • Maintain spray equipment, booths, and finishing materials
  • Collaborate with project managers and production to meet deadlines
  • Implement safety and cleanliness standards within the finishing department

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional millwork finishing experience (commercial or residential)
  • 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of finishing materials, stains, lacquers, and conversion varnishes
  • Ability to colour match and troubleshoot finish issues
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with high-end veneer and custom finish systems is an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$31.00 per hour
