ABOUT US
Cape Carraholly Retreat is a water-access only hospitality retreat offering guests off-the-grid experiences in an oceanfront property with our upscale yurts, lodges, and event venue. Our mission is to deliver exceptional service to guests from the moment they begin their journey with our boat shuttle service, creating a seamless experience that allows them to relax and reconnect with nature. Cape Carraholly Retreat opened in the fall of 2022 and currently has four 3-bedroom lodges and 6 glamping units including 5 yurts, and 1 dome. The 75-acre property is located within the jurisdiction of the City of Port-Moody and the border of Belcarra District in the Greater Vancouver area. In addition to offering short-term rentals, we also host a variety of events, including weddings, film productions, and content creation, in collaboration with entrepreneurial partners. We encourage guests to immerse themselves in the outdoors by taking advantage of our on-site amenities including kayaks, a sauna, a beach shack, an outdoor gazebo, and hiking trails.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Hospitality and Cleaning Attendant is a key member of our on-site team responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of our units. The ideal candidate has experience in cleaning services and thrives in a hospitality-focused, outdoor environment. We are seeking a detail-oriented fast-paced professional with excellent time management skills to help keep our operations smooth, our guests happy, and our property in top shape. If you are a self-starter, who proactively keeps busy and can work with minimal supervision, we would love to hear from you. Shifts would typically run from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (5 hours per day), with transportation provided via boat. Weekly hours are flexible and will range from approximately 10 to 30 hours, depending on candidate availability and business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cleaning
- Perform general indoor cleaning tasks including wiping surfaces, changing bedding, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing bathrooms and kitchens
- Maintain outdoor areas including cleaning hot tubs, outdoor kitchenettes, patio furniture, and decks
- Restock consumables and supplies in all units (toiletries, kitchen supplies, etc.)
- Perform periodic deep cleaning as scheduled
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of communal amenities including kayaks, sauna, beach shack, gazebo, etc.
Maintenance Support
- Track and report maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures, damaged furniture)
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as replacing lightbulbs, batteries, etc.
Guest & Operations Support
- Assist with last-minute turnovers or changes in booking schedules
- Maintain professional, courteous interactions with guests and team members
- Support other site operations as needed during peak periods or events
- Load and unload guests' luggage for transport between the dock and their accommodations
- Manage check-in process by welcoming guests and providing information and instructions upon their arrival at their reserved unit
- Assist with business phone line to answer guest inquiries
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in cleaning or housekeeping, ideally in a hospitality setting
- Comfortable working outdoors and in variable weather conditions
- Comfortable driving a side-by-side vehicle
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 40 lbs, walk/hike between units, and perform hands-on tasks
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Adaptable to changing operational needs and reservation schedules, responding with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and completing tasks
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable schedules
- Comfortable working in an off-grid, water-access-only location (transport provided)
- Bonus: Proven experience operating boats or willingness to learn
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Transportation: All staff and guests arrive by boat. Training and safety protocols will be provided.
