Server Assistant/Expeditor

Position: Sessions & GMT -5 Server Assistant

Reports To: Food & Beverage Manager

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Sessions & GMT -5 Server Assistant plays a vital role in helping deliver an unforgettable dining experience that embodies the unique Hard Rock culture.

Hours of Work:

This is an hourly position, with work hours that align with business needs and guest demand. This could potentially be a combination of AM & PM shifts.

Sessions & GMT -5 Server Assistant– Job Description

Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment and detail-oriented qualities are necessary
• Ensure all setups are ready for service according to standards
• Assist service to colleagues in completing pre-shift duties; including polishing all serving trays, setup of the pass area for dinner service, polish buckets and additional side duties as outlined in the pre-shift duties list
• Play an active role in supporting Hard Rock London's journey toward Forbes Travel Guide recognition by maintaining high standards in both guest-facing and internal service interactions.
• Contribute to the hotel's Forbes Travel Guide service goals through consistent delivery of polished, anticipatory, and personalized guest service.
• Complete understanding, and consistent execution in steps of service
• Assist staff in delivering a flawless dining experience, consistently providing exceptional food, superlative service, elegant decor and exquisite presentations
• Great communication with management, culinary, stewarding and front of house team
• Full understanding and knowledge of Sessions and GMT -5 floor plan, table numbers and seat numbers
• Expedite completed dishes to the correct outlet, table number, and correct seat
• Complete knowledge of the menu and being able to describe dishes to guests as you deliver food items
• Answer any questions guests may to the best of your ability
• Assist service colleagues in breakdown and clean-up of service areas
• Communicating any 86 items to entire team (including management) so they may have the information to pass along to guests without jeopardizing the guest or colleague experience
• Other support may be required throughout a shift

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar restaurant environment preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal
• Smart Serve certified
• Food Handlers certificate
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, always remaining calm and courteous

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
