About the Internship Program:

EPSCA is committed to providing professional development opportunities during the internship program. Our internship program includes training opportunities in labour relations, job shadowing labour relations professionals, as well as meetings with employer partners and unions.

Location:
We are in person at our office located at 190 Attwell Drive, Suite 580, Etobicoke, Ontario. Travel may be required as a part of this role.

Compensation:
Interns are paid $25.00 an hour.

contract position
which would range from approximately
May 4 - August 28, 2026.

What you'll do:

  • Review 20 EPSCA collective agreements to establish baseline understanding of negotiated language.
  • Research and compare relevant industry collective agreements and internal and external information sources for use in future collective bargaining.
  • Support labour relations professionals in the interpretation of EPSCA collective agreements to members.
  • May visit off-site locations including union training centers, EPSCA construction sites, etc.
  • Participate in grievances, arbitrations, and/or labour/management meetings.
  • Job shadow Labour Relations Advisors to gain industry knowledge.
  • Participate in multi-union discussions to explore solutions to on-site issues.
  • Assist in the creation of reports and maintain databases.
  • May shadow the Communications Coordinator to manage social media channels and draft newsletters.

What you'll bring:

  • Currently enrolled in labour relations or a related educational program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Collaborative team member with excellent interpersonal skills to converse with industry interest holders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to review large amounts of information and confidently summarize key points.
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude and excited to take on challenges.
  • Familiarity with collective agreements is an asset.
