Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to inspire and educate students in a dynamic learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering curiosity and understanding among students. Duties

  • Develop and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with curriculum standards, covering topics such as biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science
  • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and inquiry
  • Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback
  • Incorporate laboratory experiments and hands-on activities to enhance experiential learning
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs, including special education requirements
  • Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce understanding of complex concepts
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lessons and school-wide initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral observations
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and progress

Skills

  • Proven classroom experience with the ability to manage a diverse student population
  • Strong knowledge of science disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, or environmental science
  • Experience with tutoring students to improve understanding and academic performance
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures and safety protocols
  • Excellent communication skills for effective instruction and collaboration with staff and parents
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies for students with special education needs
  • Competence in integrating technology into lessons for interactive learning
  • Passion for science education and inspiring curiosity among students

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 20 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Richmond Hill, ON L4B 3B6
