The key responsibilities of the

Labourer

2 role

include

  • Safety Leadership
  • Prioritize safety and actively contribute to a "zero injury" culture.
  • Demonstrate high safety awareness and consistently follow safe work practices.
  • Operational Support
  • Assist with the installation, replacement, and maintenance of water and wastewater collection infrastructure.
  • Support video inspection and proactive flushing of wastewater collection systems.
  • Perform ground disturbance activities, including the installation of protective shoring and shielding.
  • Participate in confined space entries, including access to deep shafts and tunnels.
  • Equipment and Tool Use
  • Operate a variety of tools and equipment, such as power saws, jackhammers, picks, shovels, compressors, air tools, grinders, and drills.
  • Traffic and Material Handling
  • Install and remove temporary traffic control barricades and perform flagging duties in high-volume traffic areas.
  • Deliver materials and equipment across various City of Edmonton locations.
  • Facility Maintenance
  • Carry out utility and maintenance

Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma (Grade 12), GED, or equivalent secondary education.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related

experience.
- Knowledge and experience in water and wastewater infrastructure construction is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with hazards and safety controls in the water and wastewater industry is considered an asset.
- Licensing requirements:
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License is required; Class

1 or

3Q License is considered an asset.
- 6 or fewer demerits
- Ability to qualify for

an EPCOR driver's permit
- Driver Abstract may be required
- Past infractions for unsafe driving may result in non-selection
  • Reliable transportation to and from various job sites and EPCOR facilities.

Physical Requirements
