Human Resources Generalist
, will play a key role in supporting both employees and leadership across all HR functions. This position involves full-cycle recruitment, labour relations, training, accommodation, employee engagement initiatives, and performance management. The ideal candidate will bring integrity, strong interpersonal skills, and a service-oriented approach to fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
As a
Human Resources Generalist
, you will:
- Provide guidance to Supervisors on employee relations matters, including attendance, misconduct, collective agreement interpretation, and policy application.
- Conduct and document workplace investigations regarding performance, misconduct, and/or harassment, and provide recommendations.
- Performing full-cycle recruitment for salaried and hourly positions, including onboarding and orientation.
- Coordinate employee training, certification requirements, and workshops.
- Deliver training sessions for both hourly employees and management.
- Manage absenteeism reporting and case management for WSIB and STD/LTD claims.
- Oversee accommodation and return-to-work processes in compliance with legislation.
- Develop, organize, and implement employee engagement and community initiatives.
- Analyze HR processes and recommend improvements.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Promote and model a safe, positive, and inclusive workplace culture.
Job Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources; CHRP designation (or actively pursuing) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience in a unionized environment; manufacturing experience is an asset.
- At least 5 years of experience in labour relations investigations
- Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting full-cycle hourly and salaried recruitment
- 3+ years of experience managing WSIB and STD/LTD claims.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA).
- Experience leading employee engagement initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ADP and Synerion is an asset.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-focused.
- Ability to work onsite at the plant full-time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and digital learning platforms.
