Medical Receptionist

Full time Medical Reception for an allergy clinic.

We are looking for a customer service oriented, professional and highly organized individual to join our office. In this role you will be working at the front desk to assist our patients and coordinate their care within our office and with other health care providers. You will be responsible for maintaining the organization of our office and ensuring that our environment is welcoming for our patients and their families.

Our clinic has two sites and our clinical team consists of ten allergists, a nurse and three other office administrators. You would be expected to be in contact with the affiliated clinic to help coordinate patient care.

Responsibilities and duties include: greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling & confirming appointments, checking and responding to emails, processing bills, invoices and patient payments, communicating with patients and other health care workers on behalf of the physicians, maintaining confidentiality of all patient records, disinfecting high-touch surfaces and shared spaces, ensuring that the waiting room environment remains calm and welcoming, and upholding the positive reputation of our office by always treating visitors in a friendly and welcoming way.

Qualifications and Skills:

Successful completion of a recognized medical secretarial program that included medical terminology plus work experience (1 year +).

Medical Administration Diploma an asset.

Previous experience in a similar receptionist / secretary role. 1 year +

EMR experience necessary. Our office uses Accuro.

Excellent organization and time management skills.

Able to work mostly independently but also as part of a team.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Critical thinker.

Detail oriented.

Friendly and compassionate disposition.
