Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding and fabrication, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively. This role involves working with various materials and utilizing advanced welding techniques to produce high-quality assemblies. The Welder/Fitter will be responsible for ensuring that all projects meet safety standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on various materials, ensuring strong and precise welds.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to fabricate components as per design requirements.
  • Conduct rigging operations safely while moving heavy materials or components using cranes or forklifts.
  • Operate machining equipment such as press brake machines for shaping metal parts.
  • Use calipers and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in dimensions during assembly.
  • Execute plasma cutting tasks for material preparation prior to welding.
  • Collaborate with team members to assemble ductwork and other structural components for construction projects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols throughout the manufacturing process.

Experience

  • Proven experience in welding, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Familiarity with rigging techniques and mechanical knowledge is essential.
  • Proficiency in using various welding methods including MIG, TIG, and plasma cutting is required.
  • Experience with assembly processes and understanding of basic math principles for measurements is necessary.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely is preferred.
