An Operations Supervisor

North Bay Hydro Distribution Limited (NBHDL) strives to provide high levels of customer satisfaction and reliable electrical service within the North Bay community. We value our employees and seek the right person to join our exciting and dedicated team.

NBHDL is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day field operations for our electrical distribution system. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor coordinates and supervises personnel and worksites for the Operations Department. This position executes construction and maintenance activities in a safe and cost-effective manner. It assists the Vice President, Engineering and Operations, and the Distribution Engineer in optimizing asset performance and lifespan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate field crews and contractors across maintenance, construction, and emergency work.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Oversee crew scheduling, work planning, and job execution.
  • Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, ESA Reg. 22/04, and other regulations.
  • Support staff development through coaching, training, and performance reviews.
  • Monitor contractor and crew performance, materials management, and fleet upkeep.
  • Work collaboratively with customers and internal departments to minimize service disruptions.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in utility operations, preferably within power distribution.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations and standards.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing unionized teams.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • A valid G driver's license is required.

Annual Salary: $121,080
