The Dock Floor Leader oversees the day-to-day dock and logistics operations, ensuring the efficient coordination of shipping, receiving, and material handling activities. This role serves as the key link between dock staff, suppliers, and internal departments to maintain productivity, accuracy, and safety across all dock functions. The position reports directly to the Warehouse Excellence Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily dock operations, ensuring timely and accurate shipping, receiving, and material handling activities.
  • Lead and support dock employees in loading, unloading, and organizing shipments according to schedule and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline operations, resolve delays, and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and deliveries using internal systems and logs.
  • Monitor transportation and handling costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Conduct regular dock inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Support the Warehouse Manager in coordinating resources, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in door industry is required.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or lead hand capacity preferred.
  • Strong understanding or shipping, receiving, and transportation coordination.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and related warehouse equipment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with variable conditions.
