Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant

Peach City Animal Hospital is seeking a warm, polished, and energetic Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to join our team. As the professional face of our clinic, you will create a welcoming environment for clients and their pets while supporting our clinical team in daily operations. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy healthcare setting.
Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented individual who excels in customer service and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential in managing client communications, assisting with administrative tasks, and supporting the veterinary team. Experience in a veterinary or medical setting is preferred, and laboratory experience is a valuable asset.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring an exceptional first and last impression
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage client inquiries efficiently
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including updates to medical histories
- Assist with client check-in and check-out procedures
- Process payments and handle billing accurately
- Support laboratory tasks and assist with diagnostic & Treatment procedures as needed
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding treatment plans, follow-ups, and care instructions
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and inviting
- Support the veterinary team with administrative duties to ensure smooth clinic operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal-care setting preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with a positive, approachable, and calm demeanor
- Professional appearance with polished presentation
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, often-changing environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Resourceful, self-driven, and eager to learn
- Exceptional telephone etiquette, active listening skills, and "bedside manner"
- Ability to handle client concerns with patience and professionalism
- Proficient with computers and able to learn new software systems quickly
- Strong time-management skills with initiative and willingness to coach or support others
