Aevitas is currently seeking a Class 1 Driver working out of our Maple Ridge, British Columbia location. This position involves the operation of a commercial motor vehicle and the handling and transport of hazardous waste in an environmentally responsible manner. This position does not involve any travel across the Canadian/United States border.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Must be willing to travel interprovincially on an as needed basis.
  • Identify, package, label hazardous and non-hazardous materials for transport
  • Accurately complete manifests, bills of lading and associated paperwork
  • Ensure loads are secure
  • Adhere to vehicle weight limits and ensure proper utilization of Aevitas equipment
  • Ensure proper placarding of vehicles
  • Accurately complete and maintain daily logs, daily vehicle inspections, trip reports, expense reports and other reports as required
  • Comply with legal requirements and internal company policies and procedures
  • Ensure equipment is mechanically sound and in good working order at all times
  • Maintain communication with management, sales and dispatch
  • Maintain a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and other employees
  • Additional duties as assigned

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and Other Requirements

  • Hold a valid Class 1 British Columbia Driver license
  • Must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Successfully complete a criminal records background check
  • Must have clean drivers abstract
  • Must be willing to participate in a drug and alcohol monitoring program

Education and Experience

  • High School Graduate or Grade 12 equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years experience operating a commercial motor vehicle
  • Hazardous waste experience preferred
