The R&D Student is a member of the Research & Development team reporting to the Product Developer. This position's responsibility is to participate in evaluation of flavours used in the snack portfolio.

Key activities

  • Matching Flavour Profiles of Existing Product:
  • Work with external flavour houses to match existing flavours on the snack portfolio.
  • Conduct sensory review of flavours and develop prototypes.
  • Participate in production line trials and collect samples for evaluation.
  • Organize and prepare samples for shelf-life sensory studies.
  • Document and report on status of various studies.
  • Laboratory and sensory analyses:
  • Work with the other members of the R&D team on developing various prototype products.
  • Prepare samples for sales and marketing activities.
  • Maintain R&D project and production files:
  • Document project work, prepare reports/summaries, update relevant databases.

Required Training And Experience

  • Enrolled or has completed a Bachelor of Science, Food Science or a degree.

Skills sought

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of food chemistry.
  • Team player and independent worker.
  • Mathematical aptitude and computer knowledge.
  • Strong written skills.

  • 8 month co-op or contract starting January 2nd.
