The Process Engineer is responsible for providing troubleshooting, process analyses, optimization and improvement support the mill Technical and Operations groups.

  • Lead and participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving initiatives, trials, optimization work and other improvement projects
  • Analyze process trends, interpret data and propose solutions.
  • Work to improve process, environmental and quality performance.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement of the operation.
  • Provide technical and operational input and support to capital project teams, including review of P&ID's and process control logic.
  • Communicate process changes all while adhering to and promoting safe work practices.

  • Other duties as required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering

  • Minimum of 3 years of Pulp & Paper industry experience is required
  • Experience with Recovery Boilers, steam turbines, and/or water treatment systems is highly desirable
  • Experience supporting capital projects, including commissioning and startup of complex systems would be an asset
  • Experience in troubleshooting process issues and optimizing system performance
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including project managers, contractors, and operations personnel
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Well-developed organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Interest in a variety of business functions, such as Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Technical, Project Management and Safety
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity and persistence - you are a problem-solver with natural tendency to ask questions
  • Strong focus on safety and process improvement
  • Drive, initiative, teamwork
  • Language required: English
