What You'll Be Doing

The main activity in this department is the processing of single various ingredients for a meal plan, into single portion packaging size. As the Prep Supervisor you will work in a temperature controlled environment (0-4°C), where attention to detail, leadership and efficiency are key. Your tasks will include:

  • Relentlessly drive OTIF (On Time In Full) performance — ensuring 100% adherence to delivery schedules and quality standards, with zero tolerance for misses.

  • Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring timely maintenance of all packaging machines and taking ownership of assigned equipment to guarantee optimal efficiency, safety and reliability in the packaging operations.

  • Ensure proper product staging, segregation of allergens, and adherence to food safety and quality standards throughout the packaging process.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and equipment optimization.

  • Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.

  • Ensuring roles and responsibilities of all prep associates are clearly defined 

  • Ensure performance expectations are are understood and adhered to 

  • Mentor leads, runners and production associates

  • Ensure effective training and safety programs are in place

  • Manage employee feedback constructively 

  • Budgeting and hitting KPI's for the production department

  • Determine and facilitate initiatives to improve the year over year budget and KPI's

  • Planning of production activities including labour, scheduling, ingredient and packaging materials, process improvement and contingency planning

  • Other operational aspects including ensuring that food safety GMP's are consistently being followed

  • Conduct incident investigations and facilitate corrective actions.

What We're Looking For We're seeking reliable and hard-working individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have:

  • 3+ years of experience supervising productivity, efficiency, and process improvement in a food manufacturing plant setting is required

  • 2+ years experience grooming direct reports, promoting key players, and conducting employee performance management is required

  • 2+ years experience liaising with purchasing, production, quality assurance and human resource departments is required

  • Proficient in using Google Workplace especially Google Sheets

  • You are passionate about cleanliness and organization of production facilities

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is strongly preferred

  • Automated processing, production and/or packaging line experience preferred

  • Weekly schedule of Tuesday to Sunday 7:00am-3:00pm
