Arcadis is seeking a passionate, forward-thinking Intermediate / Senior Transportation Engineer to help drive the next generation of mobility solutions. Key Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead and deliver transformative transportation projects, championing innovations in traffic operations, parking studies, and sustainable mobility and design. From your first day, you'll have the opportunity to take projects from vision through to execution, ensuring every detail aligns with client expectations, municipal requirements, and Arcadis' high standards for sustainability and excellence. Your leadership and coordination skills will be essential in managing multidisciplinary teams and building strong client partnerships.

You will dive into the details of preparing traffic studies for  development applications, optimizing site plans with a keen eye for safety, circulation, and design efficiency. Leveraging tools like AutoTURN and AutoCAD, you'll conduct vehicle maneuvering analyses, develop functional and preliminary design solutions, and propose actionable improvements to existing road networks and private development projects. Your technical insight will help translate real-world observations into robust engineering recommendations and innovative pavement and signage plans.

Beyond the office, you'll oversee the collection of critical traffic data—turning movement counts, average daily traffic, and operating speeds—to inform your analysis and designs. Utilizing industry-leading software like Synchro, ARCADY, Vissim or Aimsun, you'll model transportation networks, and forecast future traffic operations. Your clear and compelling technical reports, proposals, and studies will help guide impactful decisions for clients and stakeholders, always grounded in the latest road design standards.

Communication and collaboration are at the heart of this role. You'll work closely with internal teams and clients, providing expert guidance, resolving complex challenges, and ensuring seamless project delivery. By championing sustainability and quality of life improvements in every project phase, you'll help create safer, more vibrant, and more connected communities. As a visible representative of Arcadis, you'll attend client meetings, site visits, and industry events, always advocating for our mission of shaping a better world.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required); Master's degree an asset
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario (required)
• Familiarity with road safety principles, Road Safety Professional (RSP1) designation considered an asset but not required
• 5-7+ years of progressive experience in transportation engineering, functional design, road safety and traffic operations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, AutoTURN, and Synchro software
• Familiarity with microsimulation modelling software (Vissim, Aimsun) an asset
• Familiarity with the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Geometric Design Guide and Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM)
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and technical writing skills
• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities, with proven experience in multidisciplinary collaboration
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to attend client and public meetings in person in the Greater Toronto Area as required

The salary range for this position is $89,600 to $134,400. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
