Position Overview

We are currently seeking a
Compounding Pharmacist
to join our Vaughan team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both sterile and non-sterile compounding, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, and deliver patient-focused pharmaceutical care.

This position reports directly to the
Designated Manager and CEO
and is responsible for ensuring quality, safety, and compliance within all pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Greet customers promptly and collect prescription details according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Refer clinical inquiries to the pharmacist as required by law and company policy.
  • Communicate accurate wait times and manage customer expectations.
  • Handle cash transactions, inquiries, and issue resolutions following established procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy at all times.

Administration

  • Receive new and refill prescriptions per company standards.
  • Process third-party billing, online adjudication, and manual accounts.
  • Support physicians and clinics with product orders and delivery coordination.
  • Manage incoming faxes, callbacks, and prescription documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient records.

Prescription Workflow

  • Prepare, package, and label prescriptions per regulatory standards.
  • Assist in sterile and non-sterile compounding under supervision when needed.
  • Ensure prescriptions are prioritized and processed efficiently.
  • Handle refill requests and prescription entry accurately using pharmacy software.

Inventory Management

  • Coordinate operation schedules for compounding labs.
  • Maintain medication storage and stock rotation according to procedures.
  • Manage inventory levels, returns, and recalls.
  • Oversee narcotic inventory under pharmacist supervision.

Front Shop & Merchandising

  • Order and maintain OTC and front-shop items in the dispensary.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation and removal of expired products.
  • Update patient education materials and in-store signage.

General Duties

  • Support pharmacists to enhance patient relationships.
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance.
  • Follow company policies, legal requirements, and safety standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and marketing initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Licensed
    Pharmacist with OCP Registration (required)
  • Minimum
    2 years of experience
    as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist
  • Experience in
    sterile and/or non-sterile compounding
    preferred
  • Diploma from a Pharmacy Assistant or Technician program (preferred)
  • Proficiency with
    Nexxsys
    software, MS Office, and Excel
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
