Sundowners Day Care is a non-profit licensed child care organization. We provide quality childcare for children 18 months to 12 years old and are a multi-site location in Windsor-Essex. We are currently seeking a part time COOK (17.5 hours per week)to join our fast-paced team. The Cook will work 9:30 am -1:00 pm Monday through Friday. This is a physical position where the candidate is on their feet and performing repetitive movements including lifting throughout the day. If you are a self-starter and can work independently, while still supporting the team, you are welcome to apply.

The COOK is responsible for:

  • Preparing and making healthy meals and snacks for groups of children using the Canada's Food Guide
  • Able to accommodate for allergies and other food restrictions
  • Planning meals and shopping within a budget
  • Creating and maintaining grocery lists
  • Maintaining a healthy and clean kitchen
  • Supporting the program as needed as determined by the supervisor

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum of high school diploma
  • Safe Food Handler Certification
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Current first aid/CPR certification
  • Produce a fit to work note and required immunizations
  • Experience cooking for groups especially in a child care setting is an asset
