Tenured or Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Finance

This position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).

The successful candidate will be offered a tenured or tenure-track appointment with the rank of Assistant or Associate or Full Professor, which is in accordance with the Academic Faculty Agreement, and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Location - This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

The Department of Finance in the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta, invites applications for 1 full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty position in Finance. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026.

• Teach Finance courses in undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Conduct and publish research in top-tier Finance journals.
• Contribute service to the School's academic activities.
• Actively support and help develop the Alberta School of Business's PhD program.

• Demonstrate proficiency in English.

• Completion of a PhD from an accredited program in a relevant area (e.g., finance, economics).

• Candidates close to PhD completion may be considered, with appointment contingent on completing the PhD by an agreed-upon date.
• Excellent research record or strong potential for publication in top Finance journals.
• Evidence of teaching excellence.
• Appointments at a more senior level (Associate or Full Professor) may be considered depending on qualifications and experience.
• For an associate/full professor appointment, we require a reputation for making high quality contributions to top Finance journals and evidence of teaching excellence.
